Ski Glenshee

The Project 

Glenshee Ski Centre is Scotland's Ski field and ideally situated where Perthshire meets Aberdeen and the Cairngorm National Park. Each Year Glenshee welcomes over 25,000 visitors for a range of Snowsport activities and sightseeing. 

Glenshee Ski Centre were searching for a ticketing system where they could pre-sell season passes, lift passes, and group bookings for third party Ski & Board schools. They required not only an online avenue for sales, but they also required a POS app for their on-site ticket office and a Hire App for scanning in / out Ski Equipment. 

In addition to selling Tickets online, Glenshee also requried a way to upsell their Ski Hire Equipment online to complete the customer journey. As well as an updated booking interface on their website and a comprehensive Ticket Office, they also requested a new look & feel for their website that offered a way to communicate with visitors on daily snow statistics and the status of both lifts and access roads.   

Brand Identity and awareness was the main objective of the new look and feel of the website. A Dynamic look and feel that was cohesive across both Winter and Summer. 

What We Did 

Liberty Enigne designed the new look and navigation of the Glenshee Ski Centre website. The design was focused on how a customer would navigate their way around purchasing tickets whilst also asscessing key information. We created a design that reinforced their brand colours and voice. An event's section was created to keep customer's updated with news and sporting events hosting at Glenshee.

We developed front end code to create the new look and feel per the new website design and to reflect the branding, designed by Liberty Engine. This was echoed through the booking and checkout process. 

Due to the volume of visitors to the site for various information and pre-bookings, we created the site using light weight code for efficency of site speed and to provide a seamless user experience. 

Liberty Engine also created a custom Content Management system for selling season passes, advantage cards with extensive print capabilities. A variation of our photo uploader meant that customers could upload their profile image using their smart phone, This would sync with their booking / account and Glenshee could then print their branded season cards with customer photo ID using a thermal print machine that we were able to integrate with.  

The Outcome 

Glenshee share holders and staff were delighted with the multi function of their website, on and off line Ticket Office, CMS and Scanning Apps. Having a system that is under one roof but that is custom to each department within the business has only improved their daily operations as a popular destination for tourist visiting Scotland.

The system has offered flexibility to allow the team to adapt to the demands of the business whilst offering in depth statistics on performance of sales, traffic and attendance.
